Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your account:your name and email address (via Google sign-in or email/password), and the preferences you share with us — like your area, typical meal times, budget feel and the kind of places you enjoy.
• Your friends:to coordinate a catch-up you tell us a friend’s name and, optionally, contact details and notes. We store this so we can help you plan. Your friends don’t need an account.
• Your activity: your chats with Sonder, the catch-ups you plan, and basic usage needed to run the service.

How we use it

We use your information solely to run the service: to suggest places and times, help you invite a friend, and send you the occasional catch-up reminder. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Email reminders

Sonder sends proactive catch-up reminders by email. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can turn reminders off at any time in your settings.

Information about your friends

You’re responsible for the information you give us about your friends, and you should only share what’s reasonable to help arrange a catch-up. When we help coordinate, your friend can always see what Sonder is and what it’s doing. If a friend wants their information removed, you can delete them in the app, or they (or you) can email us at hello@sonderdrift.socialand we’ll erase it.

Service providers

We share data with a small number of providers strictly to operate Sonder:

• Anthropic — powers the conversational assistant.
• Google — sign-in, and (if you connect it) your calendar and place search.
• Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
• An email provider to deliver your reminders.

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Your choices

• Access & export: download a copy of your data from your settings.
• Deletion: delete your account and all associated data from your settings, or by emailing hello@sonderdrift.social.
• Reminders: unsubscribe from any email, or turn reminders off in settings.

Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your data and the friend information tied to it. We use reputable hosting and access controls to protect it, though no online service can promise perfect security.

Changes

As Sonder grows we may update this policy. If we make a material change we’ll let you know. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
